Caleb Williams: A

Caleb Williams and the Bears had a great day against the Jaguars in London. Caleb Williams finished with 226 yards, 4 TDs, and 1 int with a 79% completion percentage throwing the football. His one interception was really ugly, but besides that, he played a really clean game. In this game, he combined his ability to sit and throw the ball with accuracy from the pocket with his ability to make exceptional plays outside the pocket. The Bears have played a lot of bad defenses recently, but during this time Caleb Williams has taken advantage and developed really well in this offense.

Jayden Daniels: A-

Jayden Daniels played a very clean game in his matchup versus the Ravens. This game was a true litmus test for Daniels and the Commanders. It is clear that the Commanders' defense couldn’t stop this Ravens offense all game. However, Jayden Daniels kept his team in it with key throws, especially on money-downs. This was another impressive performance for Daniels and I’d expect him to have a career day next week against the Panthers.

Spencer Rattler: C

Spencer Rattler started his debut out hot. The Saints offense was humming and Rattler looked in control and played with a lot of confidence. However, as the Saints started to fall behind in this game, he played a bit too out of control which led to some interceptions. Overall, I was impressed with his confidence throwing the ball. Hopefully, as he continues to develop, he can keep his confidence and improve on staying more grounded in the pocket.

Bo Nix: C-

Bo Nix has a way of having a terrible first half, and then following it up with a tremendous second-half performance. In the first half, Bo Nix was awful and put up only like 5 passing yards. However, he was on a mission to get the Broncos back in the game in the second half and he almost managed to climb the mountain. He needs to be more consistent throughout the entire game, instead of just having one half of greatness.

Drake Maye: C-

I have been a doubter of Drake Maye since he came out of the draft and this game didn’t move the needle for me at all. Do not let his throwing stats of 243 yards, 3 TDs, and 2 Ints fool you into thinking he had a good day. In this game, he confirmed every fear I had for him coming out of the draft. His footwork is sloppy, he doesn’t read through progressions well, and he panicked in the pocket when his first option wasn’t open. He did make some good throws when he stepped into a throw with confidence, but it was evident that the first-game jitters got to him. His weapons and offensive line aren’t great, so I can’t put it all on him, but he needs to progress quickly.
