Prominent College Football Game Predictions for Week 1

#1 Georgia vs. #14 Clemson

Clemson is not the team they used to be. Over the past few years, since Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne left for the NFL, this team has struggled to get back into contending form. Even in a weaker conference, they have lost games that they should have won handily. I will be riding the hot team, coach, and quarterback for this pick. Georgia will open up the season with a statement, smacking Clemson by more than 2 TDs.

#19 Miami vs. Florida

There is a lot on the line for both programs in this matchup. Perhaps the most intriguing game in Week 1. Florida begins its daunting schedule with a ranked Miami team at home for the battle of the Sunshine State. Florida will take this game as they have a lot of returning players including senior quarterback, Graham Mertz. Cameron Ward is the transfer quarterback from Washington State who will be starting for Miami, but he hasn’t played in a place like the Swamp before. Only the Gators will be getting out alive, winning it by 10.

#7 Norte Dame vs. #20 Texas A&M

A battle of recently overrated programs. Riley Leonard is the Duke transfer who will be starting for Notre Dame. He is a true dual-threat quarterback, and this game will rest on his shoulders. College Station will be rocking to open up the season. If Texas A&M can get after Leonard, and limit his scrambling, then Texas A&M will be coming out of their home opener with the win. Give me Texas A&M to win by 7.

#23 USC vs. #13 LSU

Both of these teams are left without their dynamic Heisman Trophy winning quarterbacks who went #1 and #2 overall in the NFL draft. Both of these teams are flashy but their defenses are terrible historically. USC's culture has never emphasized toughness and defense because Lincoln Riley has never been good on that side of the ball. I’ll take another SEC team, LSU, to win this game by 10.
