Jayden Daniels: A+
Jayden Daniels had an outstanding performance against the Bengals in primetime on Monday Night Football. He finished with 254 passing yards, 39 rushing yards, 3 total touchdowns, and most importantly the win on the road. With Jayden Daniels at the helm, they played exceedingly clean football with no turnovers and no punts the entire game. Not to mention that he finished with an extremely efficient 91% completion percentage. Jayden Daniels had to play perfectly in this game in order to beat the Bengals and he did exactly that. He showed no nerves about playing under the spotlight, and he delivered with a resounding win.
Bo Nix: B+
In a big upset, Bo Nix and the Broncos dominated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 26-7 win on the road. Bo Nix was the main reason for the Broncos winning the way they did as he started the game hot which allowed the team to play with a lot of confidence to secure their first win of the season. Bo Nix complimented his high completion percentage with his ability to move the ball using his legs on more than one occasion, including scoring the first touchdown of the game. He made a few questionable decisions in the second half, but overall he did enough to help the Broncos win this one convincingly.
Caleb Williams: D+
Caleb Williams and the Bears came up short in their effort against the Colts and honestly, it’s hard not to pin most of the blame on Caleb Williams for the loss. Now when you look at his stats (33/52, 363 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs) they may sound like he had a good day for a rookie quarterback, but when you look at what determined the outcome of this game, you realize he cost the Bears this win. Firstly, the Colts gifted the Bears multiple opportunities throughout this game to go and seize but Caleb Williams got sacked 4 times, including a lost strip sack, and 2 INTs were simply too many turnovers to overcome. He never looked composed in the pocket and this caused him to make crucial mistakes during key times throughout the game. A lot of his more uplifting stats came during garbage time when the Colts were allowing Williams to check the ball down to open receivers. Caleb Williams is looking a lot like Jameis Winston to open up the season, and if he continues to play this way, Chicago is not going to win consistently moving forward.
