Vanderbilt is quickly becoming America’s college football team after beating Alabama two weeks ago. Vanderbilt is being powered by their breakout quarterback, Diego Pavia, who has found an outstanding balance as a scrambler and as a thrower. When Vanderbilt beat Alabama, Vandy had over 400 total yards on offense, and they played extremely clean and efficiently which allowed them to score 40 points in the win. Texas is coming off their first loss of the season to Georgia, in that loss they couldn’t move the ball on the ground and they took several sacks. Vanderbilt will need to stop Texas on the ground and score relentlessly in order to come away with their second AP Poll Top-5 win of the season.
Texas A&M and LSU are both on six game winning streaks and haven’t lost since their season openers back in August. Well today one of these teams will get handed their second loss. It is clear that LSU is going to let it fly in this matchup as they have all season. It is clear that Texas A&M wants to work off the success of the run game to set up the pass. Neither of these defenses have been good all season, so this game will likely come down to which defense will step up to stop the other team’s explosive offense.
Missouri and Alabama aren’t where they thought they would be at this point in the season. Both teams expected to be better, and this game could ultimately shut the door on the other team’s chances of the college football playoffs. Missouri hasn’t looked good even in their wins, but if there is ever an opportunity to show to a national audience that they can make a splash in the SEC and in the grander college football landscape, it is against Alabama at home. Missouri will need to force Jalen Milroe into some mistakes to give their offense a chance to keep up with Alabama in this matchup.
